Brazilian Party
Malcolm McLean took part in the £1000 challenge by hosting a Brazilian/Scottish themed party and included food, music and dancing from both countries. Malcolm was born and brought up in Brazil before he came to Scotland and he loves both countries and their people.
Instead of any presents people were given the opportunity to contribute to the Beatson Pebble Appeal in Glasgow and/or a charity helping street children in Recife, Brazil. Malcolm showed the Beatson Pebble Appeal DVD during the party to let everyone know what they were donating towards.
Malcolm said "It was a fantastic night. I hope it helps a little bit - and lots of these can add up to a big Pebble."
Smurfit Kappa
The employees of Smurfit Kappa UK Ltd were delighted to support cancer research in the West of Scotland. They raised funds through Employee Charity Payroll Deductions and the staff chose the Beatson Pebble Appeal as one of the charities to benefit from the fund.
